Sudarshanji
A morning with Sudarshanji
Sudarshanji is a great RSS ideologue and ex chief of it. I met him first in officers training camp of RSS in 1984 when he was physical training in charge of the organization. But in spite being physical trainer he was a well read person and think tank of RSS. He not only knows about Hindu religion but has a lot of knowledge about Christianity, Islam and communism.
I was quite acquainted to him as I would like to ask as many questions as would arise in my brain! He would be one who never be short in answers or one to avoid the questions. He would fulfill quest to the last smallest query.
After a long gap I got a message that he is going to visit my regular RSS branch which is called as shakha. I immediately decided to visit so as to meet him. After the shakha was over we went at the residence of one swayamsevak for tea. Coincidently it was 43 rd birthday of another swayamsevak which I declared and everybody wished him for it. I suggested that we should clap 43 times for him. But nobody was to ready to start with. To the great surprise it was Sudarshanji who started the claps and the whole atmosphere changed into child like enthusiasm. Many times we think that sangh swayamsevaks are orthodox and won’t accept such western fashions but in spite of being highly placed official [RSS] and last generation person Sudarshanji acted differently!
Sudarshan concluded by a joke: 1 swayamsevak from Nagpur called 4 ones from Punjab for ‘ tea’. After they had tea Punjabis waited for a long and when it was getting late for next programme they asked permission to leave. Marathi man thanked and gave a farewell to them. After coming out all the 4 laughed loudly saying ‘Is this called Tea?’ For them tea must accompany a lot of eatables!!!
To be with great people is an education to you and swayamsevaks get that opportunity for sure.
